This course enables students to develop skills in professional communication, teamwork, ethics, project management, and IT governance to prepare them for effective ICT practice.
This course equips students with essential skills and knowledge to communicate effectively, collaborate in teams, and uphold ethical and professional standards in ICT practice. It explores principles of professional communication, teamwork, and leadership, along with key aspects of project management and IT governance. Through practical applications and case studies, students will develop the competencies required to navigate complex professional environments and contribute to successful ICT projects.

Course learning outcomes
- Apply effective written, verbal, and digital communication skills tailored to technical and non-technical audiences in professional ICT contexts.
- Analyse ethical issues in ICT and privacy and security concerns, using established ethical frameworks and industry standards, and incorporate cultural sensitivities into ICT projects.
- Apply best practices for teamwork and conflict resolution techniques to collaborate within diverse ICT projects.
- Discuss the responsibilities, expectations, and professional standards of ICT practitioners, adhering to codes of conduct, industry practices and legal requirements.
- Apply fundamental PMBOK project management principles to ICT projects.
- Explain key IT governance frameworks and compliance requirements, and their impact on ICT decision-making and organisational success.
