Welcome to the Web Standards Guide

The purpose of this site is to define standards and provide templates for material published on the University of Adelaide web site. They have been developed to complement the Visual Identity Standards for print media.

The templates have been developed to make the site more user-friendly, consistently branded and improve information management within faculties and areas. The Online Media Unit supports maintaining pages using the templates with Macromedia DreamweaverMX 2004 as the preferred option.

Please refer to the recommended Dreamweaver Preference Settings and the Setting up Sites in Dreamweaver before using Dreamweaver to edit University web sites.

Information on purchasing Dreamweaver is available from ITS Licensing.

The guide is also intended to act as a reference tool for publishers in relation to web design in general. The menu above contains information on the various elements of publishing pages to the University web site.
