About Elder Conservatorium of Music and School of Performing Arts

Our vision

Nurturing creative leaders since 1898, we are South Australia's home for music and performing arts education — shaping the artists and teachers who will inspire generations to come.

Our dedicated staff teach across classical performance, jazz, popular music, composition, sonic arts, music theatre, music education, and at the Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music (CASM). Students learn from some of Australia’s top musicians and enjoy unmatched ensemble experiences from small groups to big bands and orchestras. We offer hands-on performance opportunities, strong links to leading cultural institutions, and individual support from our Open Music Academy (OMA) through to our postgraduate courses.
