Prof Zhang is a joint appointment between the University of Adelaide and Shanghai Jiao Tong Universities. Dabing is a plant biologist with strengths in rice pollen development.

Prof Robertson is a NHMRC Academy member and was the inaugural Fellow of the Society for Reproductive Biology. Sarah is a human biologist with expertise in reproductive biology and immunology.

Prof Umberger is a chief investigator and has expertise in consumer behaviour and agricultural economics.

Prof Mather is a chief investigator and holds a JAT Mortlock Chair in Crop Improvement. Diane is a plant biologist and has expertise in the use and application of molecular markers to crop improvement.

Prof Burton is a chief investigator and a plant biologist with expertise in crop genetics and dietary fibre.

Dr Kravchuk is a chief investigator and has expertise in statistics and design of field experiments.

Prof Deng is the manager of the SJTU node of the Joint Reserch Centre in the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Professor Deng is a microbiologist and his research interests involve studies microbial metabolic pathways, pathway engineering related to natural product discovery, cell metabolism and molecular microbiology and Streptomyces genetics.

Prof Shiping is vice chairman of the Department of Plant Sciences and his research mainly focuses on fruit culture and developmental physiology.

Prof. Tao is a research professor in the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology. Her research is focussed on microbial secondary metabolism and pathway engineering, regulatory mechanisms of secondary metabolism in Streptomycetes and mining of microbial drugs based on high-throughput heterologous expression systems.

Associate. Prof Xu is a plant biologist professor in the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology. He is interested in the molecular mechanisms of plant pollen production. In particular he is interested in programmed cell death and lipid regulation in the process of pollen formation.

Prof Yan is a mass spectrometry specialist in the Shanghai Center for Systems Biomedicine. He is interested in disease related biomarker identification and validation using targeted proteomics, cell surface proteome and glycoproteome profiling, and novel nanotechnology development for high performance separation and detection.

Prof Gu is a plant breeding specialist for wheat at Tianfen Seed Company. He is interested in developing high yielding and quality wheat varieties using new selection and breeding methods. He has developed 15 wheat varieties and the area under cultivation of these varieties is over 3 million hectares.

Associate. Prof Lian Zhou is a researcher in the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology. Her research is focussed on Quorum sensing in the pathogenic plant bacteria Xanthomonas, the regulatory networks of virulence factor production and the molecular mechanisms of Xanthomonas-plant interactions. She is also interested in functional genomics of the plant growth promoting rhizobacteria Pseudomonas and development of novel biopesticide via synthetic biology approaches.

Associate. Prof Shiren Song is a plant biologist of the Department of Plant Sciences and his research mainly focuses on grape culture and wine production.
