Ms Hannah Wandel, winner of the Distinguished Alumni Awards' James McWha Rising Star Award 2019

Recipient of the James McWha Rising Star Award 2019, Hannah founded the not-for-profit organisation Country to Canberra, which runs nationwide programs that provide education, leadership and mentorship opportunities for rural teenage girls.

Dr James Muecke AM

Dr James Muecke AM, winner of the Distinguished Alumni Awards' Vice-Chancellor's Award 2019

Recipient of the Vice-Chancellor's Alumni Award 2019, James is an eye surgeon who has made it his life's work to fight blindness in low-income countries. James' not-for-profit organisation Sight For All has made significant steps towards eliminating blindness in Asia.

Dr Michael Llewellyn-Smith AM KStJ JP, winner of the Distinguished Alumni Awards' Vice-Chancellor's Award 2019

Recipient of the Vice-Chancellor's Alumni Award 2019, Michael is an architect, town planner and city manager who has helped to shape cities in Australia and overseas. He has also been a teacher, visiting guest lecturer and a member of the University of Adelaide Council.

Associate Professor Kristin Carson-Chahhoud

Associate Professor Kristin Carson-Chahhoud, winner of the Distinguished Alumni Awards' James McWha Rising Star Award 2019

Recipient of the James McWha Rising Star Award 2019. As a Senior Medical Research Scientist, Kristin's work focuses on tobacco avoidance and aims to close the gap between clinical research trials and real-world patient care.

Ivy league school awaits John Monash scholar

Ben Mylius has been awarded the 2013 Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) John Monash Scholarship in Water Studies and will use his scholarship to to study at an Ivy League school in the US.
