Centre of Light for Life Biophotonics Symposium

The Centre of Light for Life hosted its inaugural Biophotonics Symposium at the National Wine Centre on the 15th of November, 2025.
The event brought together a diverse lineup of experts in the field, featuring both international and local speakers. We were honoured to welcome Prof Eric Potma, Prof Irina Larina, Prof Kirill Larin, and Prof Shanti Bhattacharya from abroad, as well as our Adelaide researchers Dr Darren Chow, A/Prof Jiawen Li, Prof Mark Hutchinson, Dr Ralf Mouthaan, and Prof Robert McLaughlin.
The Symposium was a resounding success, attracting a vibrant audience — from undergraduates, Masters and PhD students to Early and Mid Career researchers across various fields. The Centre received wonderful feedback about the breadth of topics covered and the many engaging scientific discussions, making the event a truly enriching experience for all attendees.
The symposium organising committee included Kishan Dholakia, Kylie Dunning, and Megan Lim, with Avinash Upadhya for chairing the morning session, and the Centre team helping out with logistics at the event.
