Public Lecture by Prof Shanti Bhattacharya

The Centre hosted Prof Shanti Bhattacharya from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) for an insightful public lecture titled "Lights, Camera, Action!".

Her lecture brilliantly showvased the incredible role of light in our everyday lives — from shaping light to fibre communication. The lecture had a wide range of attendees, including academics from various fields as well as high school students. Many commented on how Shanti made complex physics concepts accessible through her analogies—making the fundamentals of light both engaging and easy to grasp.

The lecture was organised by the Adelaide Optics Chapter committee and supported by The Australian Institute of Physics.
