What makes locusts swarm?
Locusts are invading South Australia, what is it that turns the simple solitary cricket into these ravaging swarms of locusts? Professor Steve Simpson from the University of Sydney has been studying the behaviour of crickets and has found that crowding and touching crickets on certain parts of their bodies turns them into locusts.
