Landcare Week 2012

Landcare Week: 3rd - 9th September 2012

From the farm to the city, landcare is for everyone.

Landcare connects community groups, farmers, government, business and industry, scientists, researchers, schools and youth groups to work together to protect our land and coast for future generations.

Landcare farmers are managing environmental conservation projects on their properties whilst also feeding the nation, leading the world in farming techniques and innovation, and sustaining the vital agribusiness that underpins our economy.

You are involved with Landcare if you help manage local environmental issues on public land, on your farm, at school, along the coast, rivers and creeks, out bush in rural communities, your place of work and even your own backyard.

Landcare Week celebrates the people, places and projects all over Australia who are making a difference.

Speaking of making a difference, on the 9th of September Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary in South Australia will be participating in Bushcare’s Major Day Out and are looking for members of the public to join in on the day of bush care. All ages are welcome, with no experience needed.

In the afternoon Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary will hold a brief animal interaction, a guided walk through the sanctuary and a supplied BBQ lunch.
