Case Study: A monitoring technique for the Springs of the Great Artesian Basin

Environment Institute members Davina White and Megan Lewis were recently asked to prepare a case study for Digital Globe.

Digital Globe is a leading global provider of commercial high-resolution earth imagery products and services. Both researchers were requested to provide a case study to Digital Globe titled ‘A monitoring technique for the Spring of the Great Artesian Basin’ following a presentation Dr White gave at Spatial Information Day last year in Adelaide.

The research project ‘Spatial Survey and Remote Sensing of Artesian Springs of the Western Great Artesian Basin’ also won the South Australian Spatial Excellence Awards, Industry Award for innovation in 2012.

Read the case study to find out more about this interesting research.

The Facutly of Sciences latest e-Science magazine also has a byte about ‘Satellite images shed new light on iconic desert springs’ on page 13.
