Lian Pin Koh speaks at Clinton Global Initiative
Associate Professor Lian Pin Koh had the honour of being invited by President Clinton, Secretary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton to participate in the Clinton Global Initiative University 2015 in Miami, Florida last week.
Along with fellow panelists and participating students, he discussed how innovative technologies, including conservation drones, can help monitor wildlife and better inform campaigns against illegal trade and poaching.
Associate Professor Koh was joined by esteemed co-panelists, including Dr. M. Sanjayan - Executive Vice President of Conservation International, Ms. Candace Crespi - Campaign Director of the Oceanic Preservation Society (the team behind landmark films, such as 'The Cove', 'BlackFish' and 'Racing Extinction'), and Mr. Bryan Arroyo - Assistant Director of the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), an initiative of the Clinton Foundation, convenes global leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. CGI Annual Meetings have brought together more than 180 heads of state, 20 Nobel Prize laureates, and hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations and NGOs, major philanthropists, and members of the media.
