eScience. Caterpillar Killers

A parasitoid wasp procreates by laying it's eggs inside a caterpillar. The larvae then eat the caterpillar from the inside out, taking care not to eat the caterpillars vital body parts too soon.

Erin Fagan-Jeffries, a PhD student who recently won the FameLab competition for her presentation about her research, gives us all the gory details of this fascinating lifecycle in the latest eScience mag.

Find out how you can get involved with Erinn's citizen project, The Caterpillar Conundrum.
