Intelligent Water Decisions research group making waves

extremesWater is our most precious resource and one that needs careful and thoughtful management. Intelligent Water Decisions is a group to do just that - to transform the practice of water management through world-leading research.

The group is coordinated by several researchers at the University of Adelaide, and is led by Associate Professor Seth Westra. To date, they have worked in partnership with water utilities, state governments, local councils, irrigation trusts and private companies across a wide range of projects

Their blog is full of nuanced information on water management. The field of extreme statistics gets a look in, as extreme weather events become more common, while the case for optimisation and decision support tools to be used in research is convincingly explained.
