Who run the world? Women in STEM! And now social media is behind a push to celebrate the amazing women contributing to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The #STEMSelfies campaign challenges stereotypes of what it means to be a scientist. The campaign encourages women in STEM to take selfies promoting their great work. The Environment Institute's researchers have joined the chorus with selfies showcasing seasnakes, swimmer crabs and more! See their #STEMSelfies below.

If you identify as a woman in STEM, join the celebration by taking a selfie, posting it to social media and tag using hashtags #STEMSelfie and #WomenInSTEM.

The #STEMSelfies campaign is coordinated by the South Australian Government Office for Women. The images will be showcased at an event to mark the UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February, 2017.
