Seminar: Sustainable Landscape Partnerships by Conservation International
The next speaker in the Department of Ecology & Environmental Science Seminar Series will be Simon Badcock, Senior Terrestrial Program Advisor at Conservation International.
Title: Reflections on the implementation of the Sustainable Landscapes Partnership, North Sumatra, Indonesia: Challenges, lessons learnt and future opportunities
When: 12:10pm, Friday 26th May 2017
Where: Napier 102 Lecture Theatre
In recent years there has been considerable focus and attention on landscape level projects as a means of helping to reconcile some of the challenges that exist more broadly between the demand for development as contrast with the conservation of key ecosystems services and the natural capital that is so fundamental to our well being. The seminar will focus on the approach and strategy that we pursued in North Sumatra, Indonesia and that was funded by USAID and the Walton Family Foundation between 2013 - 2017 as well as outline some of the challenges, lessons learnt and future opportunities.
