Dr Dom Mcaffee has been chosen to speak at TEDxAdelaide

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading and has been organising events for thirty years. TEDx is an independently run event based on the original TED conference structure.

Dr Dominic Mcafee, a marine ecologist who specialises in Shellfish ecology. His previous work has focused on studying the effects of climate change on shellfish and improving the resilience of oyster populations on the East Coast of Australia and in Hong Kong.

Dr Mcafee is now working on reconstructing an Oyster Reef in the Gulf St Vincent, SA. Historically, most of the South Australian coast was surrounded by Oyster Reefs and their loss changed the ecosystems radically.
Read Dr Mcafee's exclusive series of guest blogs for the Environment Institute, which give a great insight and historical context to his latest project, which will be featured in his TEDxTalk.

The Oyster Restoration project is led by Prof Sean Connell in partnership with the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, Nature Foundation SA, Ian Potter Foundation and Environment Institute.

Dr Mcafee speaks at the TEDxAdelaide on Nov 2, get your tickets soon as this event sold out last year.
