CRC for Coastal Health and Wealth National Industry Forum
The Cooperative Research Centre for Coastal Health and Wealth (CRC CH&W) represents a national partnership to secure and ensure long-term growth in productivity, profitability and the health of Australia’s coastal industries and ecosystems.
When: Wed 27 February 2019
Time: 9:30am – 1:00pm
Where: The Armoury Gallery, South Australian Museum, North Terrace, Adelaide, SA 5005
Book: Eventbrite
The CRC CH&W will grow the global competitiveness of assets (i.e. natural and built), industries and agribusiness (e.g. minerals, manufacturing and technology, seafood production) in Australia’s coastal areas and communities. It will be an independent and trusted collaborative platform that will create the advanced products, tools and processes needed to resolve key contested and conflicted issues.
In 2019 a consortium of industry, research and Government partners will progress the proposal to establish the CRC CH&W. Support to establish the centre will be sought from the Australian Government’s CRC grant program, which offers up to 1:1 matching funding for investment over a 10 year period through a competitive bid process.
National Industry Forum for the CRC CH&W
The CRC CH&W National Industry Forum will provide an opportunity for coastal industries (sectors, associations and representative groups, companies, SMEs, individuals) and associated groups, including government, to highlight the challenges they face in using and accessing coastal areas, discuss the solutions they need to address these challenges, and hear about new and innovative opportunities to design solutions, tools and processes as a part of the CRC CH&W.
The forum will provide a first opportunity for potentially interested groups and representatives to come together to discuss and design this collaborative effort.
9.30 am to 11.15 am - The future of Australia's coastal industries and ecosystems
11.30 am to 12.30 pm - National workshop
12.30 pm to 1 pm - Lunch and networking
1 pm to 3 pm - Meeting opportunity
Representatives from the University of Adelaide, University of Western Australia and University of the Sunshine Coast will be available between 1 pm and 3 pm, to answer further questions and discuss in more detail the proposed initiative with industry representatives.
