Professor Hugh Possingham announced as Queensland's new Chief Scientist

Recently completing his role as Chief Scientist of The Nature Conservancy, Professor Possingham has been announced as Queensland's Chief Scientist.


We congratulate our new Chair on his next appointment with the Office of the Queensland Chief Scientist. His expertise in mathematical and theoretical applied ecology will no doubt be invaluable in this new position.

Professor Possingham's past includes Chair in the departments of Mathematics and Biological Sciences University of Queensland, Chief Scientist at The Nature Conservancy, and director of The Ecology Centre, where he has remained as both an Australian Research Council Professorial Fellow and as an ARC Federation Fellow.
