Congratulations to this year's Fresh Scientists for SA

Congratulations to Brittany Williams and Nina Wootton who have been announced as two of the finalists for South Australia in the 2021 Fresh Science program.

Both Brittany and Nina are PhD students from the School of Biological Science,

Fresh Science is organised by the group Science in Public, and aims to support Australia’s next generation of early career scientists by empowering them to communicate their research stories.

The program takes up-and-coming researchers with no media experience and turns them into spokespeople for science, giving them a taste of life in the limelight.  Their media training is then followed by a public event in their home state at which they present their research in a very limited timeframe.

Brittany's research is titled ‘A Snappy Solution to Restoring Oyster Reefs’ and Nina will present on 'Plastic Pollution in Seafood' .

This year's event is scheduled to be held in late October.
