R U OK? Day at IPAS
September 12 is R U OK? Day, a reminder to stay connected and have meaningful conversations to support one another through tough times.
As part of this National Day of Action, we invited our community to engage in meaningful conversations in a safe and supportive setting. This R U OK? Day, we were fortunate to hear from our colleague and IPAS member Dr Chris Perrella, who shared valuable insights into understanding and addressing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and stress. Chris’s thoughtful talk shed light on navigating these challenges, offering practical steps toward mental well-being and a unique perspective as an academic.
The seminar was engaging and thought-provoking, with Chris using videos, photos, quotes, and poems to help articulate feelings that are often hard to express and even harder to understand in ourselves. We had a great turnout for this IPAS seminar, reflecting our commitment to supporting one another and fostering open dialogue.
Thank you to Chris and to everyone who attended. Your participation is a testament to the supportive environment we strive to build.
