Roundtable Discussion on Decarbonisation with Professor Göran Roos

Today in partnership with SA Zero, we had the privilege of hosting Professor Göran Roos, a distinguished Swedish academic, author, and businessman, renowned for his contributions to innovation management, industrial policy, and strategy. As one of the founders of modern intellectual capital science, Professor Roos continues to advise organisations and governments worldwide. His extensive expertise has earned him visiting professorships in Australia, the UK, and Norway.
The roundtable discussion was an opportunity for industry and government leaders, focusing on the formation of industry hubs, decarbonisation, and green defence. The session provided a unique opportunity to gain insights from his extensive experience, particularly his observations on successful industry hub models in Europe. Followed by the discussion a Q&A was facilitated by the Chair of Committee for Adelaide, Raymond Spencer.
Professor Roos will also be presenting a public lecture at the University of Adelaide titled “Accelerating Decarbonisation Through Industry Hubs: Lessons from Europe’s Experience.” His presentation highlighted practical strategies for leveraging industry hubs to facilitate decarbonisation and drive sustainable growth, also offering valuable lessons for South Australia’s own net-zero transition, fostering a discussion on how local industries can adapt and thrive in a low-carbon economy.
