Deputy Vice-Chancellor's message

Jessica Gallagher

Our education and research activities are enhanced by more than 300 partners around the world, and our collaborative activities extend the University’s global reach, reputation and impact.

These collaborations provide our students with a global mindset and international outlook, and opportunities for researchers to solve problems and contribute to positive, lasting change.

Increasing our global network is one of the ways that we boost our global reputation and advance partnerships in areas of key strategic importance. Initiatives like the International Fellows Award attract leading academics to the University, providing opportunities for the sharing of ideas, knowledge and processes, and the development of institutional partnerships.

The Strategic Conference Sponsorship Fund is another resource that staff can access to foster collaboration and build stronger research networks, with up to $20,000 per opportunity for conferences or events that align with our FAME strategies or Industry Engagement Priorities.

Further information about the International Fellows Award and the Strategic Conference Sponsorship Fund is detailed below, along with the latest successful recipients and application details for the upcoming rounds.

The Spring / Summer edition of Lumen is now available, and features interviews with prominent Adelaide artist Peter Drew, former On Dit editor Samela Harris, and recent PhD graduate Hossein Asgari who was also shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award for his first novel. In a Lumen exclusive, the mystery of just who dangled the FJ Holden from the University footbridge in 1971 is revealed. I hope you enjoy this edition!

Our outlook has always been global, and there are many opportunities for each of us to access resources that support a better future, and engage with communications that share our stories and celebrate our achievements.
