2023 Hugh Martin Weir Prize
Ashley Dennis-Henderson has been awarded the 2023 Hugh Martin Weir Prize. Ashley is currently undertaking a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and her research focuses on the analysis of historical texts using natural language processing.

Future Industry Making Fellows
Professor Heike Ebendorff-Heidepriem (Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing) and Associate Professor Johan Verjans (Australian Institute for Machine Learning) have been awarded Future Industry Making Fellowships (FMIFs) jointly funded by the University and the South Australian State Government.
ANZIAM medals
Dr Luke Bennetts and Professor Tony Roberts (School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences) have been awarded the 2023 Tuck and ANZIAM medals respectively from the Australian and New Zealand Industrial and Applied Mathematics society.
