The mission of Elevate: Boosting diversity in STEM program is to support diverse people to become successful and innovative leaders, decision-makers and role models in STEM. The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and engineering (ATSE), along with its partners, have ensured a high-quality program spanning industry, academia and government in order to upskill women and non-binary people with STEM qualifications, research and business expertise.
Eligibility
Applicants are required to meet all three eligibility criteria:
- Identify as a woman or non-binary person
- Be enrolling as a domestic student at an Australian University
- Be planning to undertake a STEM higher degree
In line with the objectives of the Elevate program, applicants with links to industry will be prioritised. Studies that will be favourably considered include:
- Resources
- Transport
- Defence capability
- Renewables and low emission technologies
- Agriculture, forestry and fisheries,
- Enabling capabilities (such as engineering, data science, robotics, quantum)
- Medical Science (some exclusions apply)
Selection criteria
Applicants will be asked to provide:
- A personal story
- The benefits of participation in the program
- Interest in the chosen course of study
- Potential impact on the broader STEM sector
- Opportunities for collaboration with industry
