Volunteer Achievement Awards
Recognising the achievements and contributions of our volunteers.
The University's Volunteer Achievement Awards recognise one student, one non-student and two volunteer groups for their exceptional achievements and significant contribution to the University community.
Nominations are currently closed until 2025.
Volunteer of the Year
The University actively encourages and promotes the culture of volunteering and we greatly appreciate the contribution volunteers make to the University and wider community. This award recognises the exceptional achievement by an individual through their volunteer activity over a period of five or more years.

Criteria - Volunteer of the Year
- Describe the volunteer’s considerable volunteer contribution
- Outline the impact they have provided to the University and/or wider community
- Describe any obstacles overcome by the volunteer as part of their volunteering
- Highlight the level of commitment, dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the volunteer

Eligibility - Volunteer of the Year
- The Volunteer of the Year award is open to registered volunteers of the University Volunteer Program through an approved volunteer group
- The volunteer must have volunteered for minimum of five years
- Criteria must be addressed and endorsed by the nominees Supervisor and/or Volunteer Coordinator
- Previous winners are not eligible to apply for a period of two years
- Nominations close 28 October 2024
Student Volunteer of the Year
The University actively encourages and promotes the culture of volunteering and we greatly appreciate the contribution volunteers make to the University and wider community. This award recognises the considerable contribution made by a student volunteer through their volunteer activity over a period of two semesters or more.

- Describe the student volunteer’s considerable volunteer contribution
- Outline the impact they have provided to the University and/or wider community
- Describe any obstacles overcome by the volunteer as part of their volunteering
- Highlight the level of commitment, dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the volunteer

- The Student Volunteer of the Year award is open to registered student volunteers of the University Volunteer Program through an approved volunteer group

Volunteer Group Awards
The University actively encourages and promotes the culture of volunteering and we greatly appreciate the contribution volunteers make to the University. The Volunteer Group Awards are split into two categories that recognises the exceptional achievement by University Volunteer Groups who have demonstrated genuine involvement, long-term value and impact.
Category One – Student
This category is open to Volunteer Groups whose main outcomes contribute to the student experience and academic learning and teaching For example; mentoring programs.
Category Two – Community
This category is open to Volunteer Groups whose outcomes contribute to the University community and/or the wider community For example; outreach programs.

Criteria - Student and Community Volunteer Group of the Year
• Describe the volunteer group’s exceptional volunteer achievement.
• Outline the impact the volunteer group has had and the benefits they have provided over a period of 2 years or greater.
• Describe any obstacles overcome by the volunteer group as part of their achievement.
• Highlight the level of commitment, dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the volunteer group. -
Eligibility - Student and Community Volunteer Group of the Year
- The Volunteer Group Awards are open to registered volunteer groups of the University Volunteer Program for minimum of 2 years.

Volunteer Project of the Year
The University actively encourages and promotes the culture of volunteering and we greatly appreciate the contribution volunteers make to the University. This new award recognises the impact and benefits of a project delivered in 2024.

• Describe the volunteer group’s project and the volunteers’ contribution and achievement.
• Outline the impact the volunteer group has had and the benefits they have provided via the project.
• Describe any obstacles overcome by the volunteer group as part of their achievement.
• Highlight the level of commitment, dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the volunteer group. -
Eligibility - Volunteer Project of the Year
- The Volunteer Project Awards are open to registered volunteer groups of the University Volunteer Program for minimum of 2 years.
- Criteria must be addressed by the Supervisor and/or Volunteer Coordinator and endorsed by their management by 28 October 2024.
