Enrolling for 2027

When you can enrol depends on your situation:

Continuing students, and new students who receive an offer in September or October: you can enrol from Monday 2 November 2026, at the time set for your school or program area. Find yours in the table below. Your enrolment open date and time is also shown on your myEnrolment homepage.
New students who receive an offer through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) on 14 January 2027: we'll send you a welcome email with your January enrolment open date and time.
New students who receive an offer at any other time: you can enrol as soon as your welcome email arrives.

Complete your enrolment in three steps

Step 1 is for new students only. If you're a continuing student and you've done your enrolment checklist, start at Step 2.

STEP 1 · NEW STUDENTS ONLY

Get set up

You’ve accepted your offer, congrats! Before you enrol, you must activate your student account and work through your enrolment checklist.

Have your computer and a mobile device ready before you begin.

To activate your account and email, you'll need to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) using a trusted authenticator app. The university recommends Okta Verify.

If you're an international student, use a mobile device you'll have access to while studying in Australia.

On your phone: download Okta Verify from your app store.

On your computer: go to the student account activation page, click Activate your AU account, enter your Student ID from your Welcome email, and click ‘Send’.
Check your personal email for a message from no-reply@okta.adelaide.edu.au and follow the steps to finish.
Log in to the myAdelaide Student Portal and confirm access.
Log in to myEnrolment where you will find your Enrolment checklist. It has important steps like confirming your personal details. You must complete this before enrolling.

If you have any technical issues, contact IT for help.

Common issues

Your Welcome email arrives once you've accepted your offer. It contains your Adelaide University Student ID (e.g. a1234567) and a link to activate your account.

First, check your junk and spam folders
If it hasn't arrived after you accepted your offer, contact Student Assist.

Activating your account

When you follow the link in your Welcome email, you'll receive an activation email from no-reply@okta.adelaide.edu.au. The link expires after seven days, so it's worth acting on promptly. If you can't see it, check your junk and spam folders.

Need tech help?

If your account isn't working, the Student portal won't load, or you hit a similar issue, the Technology Service Desk is open 24/7 on +61 8 8302 5000.

STEP 2 · ALL STUDENTS

Plan your timetable

Before you enrol, you must decide on what courses to study and which classes to take.

This step has two parts: understanding your study plan, then building your timetable. We recommend doing both before enrolment opens so you’re ready when it’s time.

For students starting in 2027, enrolment will open in late 2026.

IF YOU'RE AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

Review your study plan as soon as possible so you're ready to enrol without delay. We encourage you to enrol as early as you can to give yourself the best choice of available classes before teaching begins.

2a — Understand your study plan

Your study plan is the list of courses you need to take and which semester you will take them in.

Understanding your study plan before you enrol is the best way to ensure you choose the right courses, in the right order.

You will either need to follow a Standard study plan or a Personalised study plan.

Standard study plan

Follow the standard study plan that applies to your circumstances (e.g full-time or part-time), unless you've received a personalised study plan or specific enrolment advice from the University.

To find your standard study plan:

Find your degree page on the Adelaide University website or through myEnrolment by selecting the Enrolment Advice link.
In the Degree Structure section, open the dropdown for your relevant study plan.
View the courses you need to enrol in, along with the electives you can choose from.

Currently, some specific standard study plans (e.g mid-year) may also be in the Enrolment Information section on the degree page, under Enrolment advice.

Personalised study plan

Follow a personalised study plan if, for example:

You're a student who has transitioned from the University of Adelaide or UniSA and aren't following a standard plan.
You're an international student who has credit.
Your Program Director has given you specific advice, or
You’ve received specific advice from Student Assist.

If you've been emailed a personalised study plan or specific enrolment advice, follow that - it's tailored to you.

If you are a transitioning student, you will find your study plan in the study plan app.

Remember, you will need to log in to this app with your University of Adelaide or UniSA credentials. If you have any issues, contact Student Assist.

Before moving on

Ensure you read any 'Program rules and notes' and 'Enrolment advice' that may appear on the Enrolment Information section of your degree page.

Tips for degree pages

Select ‘Current student’ at the top of the page to hide non‑enrolment related content and find what you need faster.

Where available, select the year you started your degree to see the correct enrolment information.

2b — Build your timetable

Before your enrolment date opens, work through these steps:

Referring to your study plan, determine which courses you will enrol into
On each course page, confirm you meet the prerequisites before planning your classes.
In the Availability section of each course page, see which classes are available.
Check whether each course and class is held on campus or online.
Check the details for each class: location, time, spaces available, and any notes.

Tips for building your timetable

Use the timetable planner to build a draft and spot clashes early.
Note down the class number for each class you want - these unique IDs make it quick to find and select your classes when enrolment opens.
Choose two classes in case your first preference isn’t available.

Common timetable issues

Check the course page under Availability for timetable details.

The Availability section lists all the study periods when the course is offered. If the study period you’re looking for isn’t shown, the course is not currently offered in that period.

If one of your required courses does not have any available classes, please contact Student Assist so we can look into this for you. We also recommend checking the Course Pages regularly, as additional classes may be created if existing classes fill up.

If an elective course is full, you may need to choose a different elective if other options are available.

STEP 3 · ALL STUDENTS

Enrol

IF YOU'RE AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

Complete your enrolment online before you arrive in Adelaide if possible. Otherwise, seek help during Orientation Week. We encourage you to enrol before classes start.

How to enrol

With your classes chosen and class numbers noted on your timetable planner, you're ready to enrol. Work through your courses one at a time, then review your full timetable at the end.

In myEnrolment:

Make sure you have completed your Checklist first. This can be found in myEnrolment in 'Step 2: Complete my Checklist.' You can't enrol until this is done.
Open Step 3: Manage my Enrolment, then select the correct study period — the one shown on your program page and study plan (for example, Semester 1). The default may not be the right one, so check it before you start.
Add the first course for that study period, using the class numbers from your Weekly Timetable Planner.
Select your classes for that course. Choose one option, then select your Enrolment Class. If the course has Related Classes, select one of each type (for example, a lecture and a tutorial). Check the day, time and location as you go.
If a class clashes, choose another time for one of them so they no longer overlap.
Once you've selected all classes for the course, click Confirm Selected Classes. On the Enrol in Classes confirmation page, check the details, scroll down and click Enrol in Classes.
A successful enrolment shows the message "You have successfully enrolled in the following classes" at the top, with a green Enrolled box beside each class.
To enrol in more courses, select Enrol in more Courses and repeat the process.
Manage my Enrolment lists every course you're enrolled in—if a course appears here, no further action is needed. Check these match your study plan for the study period.
To view your timetable, select My Timetable from the top menu and choose your study period for a weekly view. You can also Print Timetable or Sync to my calendar (Office 365, Google or Outlook).

Common enrolment issues

Hit an error while enrolling? Here are the most common ones and how to resolve them.

In myEnrolment, you set the study period under Manage my Enrolment. Choose the one shown on your Enrolment Advice (for example, Semester 1).

To move a course to a different study period, drop it and add it again under the correct one: tick the course, select Drop selected courses, then Confirm Drop.

Not sure which period is right? Check your study plan and the timetable you have created.

If the study period you need (for example, 2026 Term 4) isn't showing in the drop-down, it can only be fixed by a staff member. Contact Student Assist on +61 8 7420 5101 to have it corrected.

This means that you have overdue fees owing to the university, such as overdue tuition fees, Student Services Amenity Fee (SSAF), library fines, or accommodation fees. Some bad financial standing indicators will prevent you from enrolling and you’ll need to pay the amount owing in the myAdelaide Student Portal in full before you can enrol. If you have proof of payment, you can contact Student Assist to help you.

This means a program Requirement Group is attached to the class and you're not in a program that allows enrolment.

If you believe you should be able to enrol in this course, complete an override request from the Enrolment Help tab in myEnrolment, which goes to the relevant school for approval.

A Class Full message means that the class has reached its capacity. This may be because the teaching space has reached its maximum safe capacity or because the class size has been capped to support the best possible learning experience, for example.

If you can, try selecting another class with available places.

If you would like to enrol in a specific class that is full, you can ask the Course Coordinator if they are able to approve an override. Please note this isn’t always possible. If you receive approval, submit an override request from the Enrolment Help tab in myEnrolment, which will go to the relevant College Timetabling Team for review.

If none of the classes for one of your required courses have any available places, please contact Student Assist and we’ll look into this for you. We also recommend checking the Course Pages regularly, as additional classes may be created if all existing classes fill up.

If an elective course is full, you may need to choose a different elective if other options are available.

FAQs

Your fees may increase a little each year through standard annual indexation, but they won't be higher than the fees new students pay for the same program that year.

If you've moved from the University of Adelaide or the University of South Australia to the same or an equivalent program at Adelaide University, the tuition fee arrangements in place when you accepted your offer still apply.

Your program transitioned to Adelaide University in either the same or an equivalent program. You should have received an individual study plan outlining your recommended enrolments.

Electives are courses you can choose to study (if your program includes elective space) to explore other areas of interest or broaden your knowledge. There are two types of electives: program electives, and university wide electives.

Program electives are a selected list of courses specifically for your program. If your program requires program electives, you must choose from this list.
University-wide electives are courses that may be available to students from any program, provided your program includes free elective space and you meet the course requirements.
You can view your Program electives in the Courses section of your Degree Pages. You can browse University-wide electives on the Electives Page.

A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) is the official document that confirms you have accepted your place and can enrol at Adelaide University. You need your CoE to apply for a student visa to study in Australia.

Your CoE includes details about you, your program, the estimated cost and the duration of your studies.

We email your CoE to you or your education agent approximately one to two days after we receive your completed acceptance documents, tuition fee deposit and evidence of Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), if applicable.

A conditional Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) is one issued before you have met all the conditions of your offer. If your offer depends on your final results, you may be able to accept it early and receive a conditional CoE, so you can start your student visa application.

Your conditions are listed on the CoE. To enter your program, you must meet these conditions and provide evidence that you have met them.

You may be eligible for a conditional CoE if you:

are still completing your final semester of study
have met the English language proficiency requirements
have provided certified proof of your academic details
are using a recognised education agent
have completed the application for a conditional CoE.

Once your results are released, provide them through the Online Application System, or to your education agent, as soon as possible so you can enrol in your courses.

If you do not meet the academic requirements of your offer, your CoE may be cancelled. If this happens, you may be entitled to a refund of any fees you have paid, in line with the University's refund policy.

Adelaide University may cancel your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for several reasons. For example, if you:

do not enrol in any courses
do not pay your tuition fees
are prohibited from further study under Adelaide University's Academic Preclusion, Suspension, and Expulsion Procedure
defer your studies
withdraw from your studies at Adelaide University
transfer to a different education provider
complete your studies early.

If we cancel your CoE, our International Student Support team will notify you on the date of cancellation. You will then have 28 days to:

leave Australia
apply for a different visa
apply to have your CoE reinstated.

After 28 days, the Department of Home Affairs may cancel your student visa.

It might. If Adelaide University cancels your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), it must notify the Australian Government's Department of Home Affairs. Only the Department of Home Affairs can cancel your student visa. Adelaide University cannot.

If you have concerns about your student visa, contact the Department of Home Affairs.

Yes. First Nations Admission Access is an alternative entry pathway for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants. It offers another way to show you're ready for university study if you may not meet the standard entry requirements or don't have an ATAR.

Go to the Study at Adelaide University.
Find your degree.
Select the course you want from the "What courses you'll study" section.
Scroll down to availability.

You can find all the key dates on the University's Academic Calendar, including census dates, enrolment and withdrawal dates, teaching breaks and exam dates.

Yes. You can apply to take a break from your studies, known as a leave of absence. The rules differ for domestic and international students.

Domestic students

If you've completed all assessment components for at least one course, you can apply for a leave of absence for up to 12 months. Use the Leave of Absence from Program form.

Want to extend your leave? Submit a new form. If you're requesting more than 12 months, include supporting documents. Student Assist will seek approval from your Program Director and let you know the outcome.

International students

You can take leave only for illness or exceptional compassionate circumstances. You will need to provide official documents.

You may be granted leave for up to six months. To apply, complete the Leave of Absence (International) form.

If you are submitting documents electronically, follow the Electronic Document Submission guidelines.

If a Common Core course appears on your study plan, it's a required part of your program.

The Common Core is a suite of courses designed to give Adelaide University graduates an edge. Each course explores big ideas from one of six knowledge areas:

Artificial Intelligence
Data Knowledges
Entrepreneurship and Design Thinking
Ethical Knowledges
Intercultural Understanding
First Nations Knowledges.

Developed with direct input from industry partners, these courses:

have no assumed knowledge
help you learn alongside students from other disciplines
build transferable skills employers value, like collaboration, ethical reasoning, problem-solving and adapting to real-world challenges
connect your studies with global, social and community priorities.

As an undergraduate student, you'll usually take one Common Core course per year, up to three in total. This may differ if your program has specified content because of professional accreditation requirements.

As a transitioning student, if you're in the third year of your program in 2026 and a Common Core course is on your study plan, you can choose a university-wide elective in your discipline area instead.

New Common Core courses are being added over 2026 and 2027.
