Accommodation support and services

Specialist accommodation support when you need it

The Accommodation Services team assists students in exploring a variety of housing options, including dedicated student residences and private rentals. Our goal is to help students make informed decisions, ensuring a smooth transition that minimises distractions from their studies.

We offer comprehensive, multi-campus support for all students throughout their academic journey, including those with accessibility needs or those enrolled in short-term programs.

Students can easily connect with our team through on-campus drop-ins or by booking online consultations via our website. Additionally, our 24/7 phone support is available to assist prospective students across different time zones and provide immediate housing assistance.

From 1 January 2026, Adelaide University students can use an airport pickup service to travel from Adelaide Airport to their nominated accommodation destination.

Bookings can be made via the Student Accommodation Portal once you have confirmed your flight arrival information and accommodation destination. Bookings are accepted up until 72 hours prior to the scheduled flight arrival time.

Accompanying passengers (non-students) and excess luggage may attract an additional fee – this will be calculated and paid at the time of booking.

The Commonwealth  Government offers a variety of financial support programs to assist Australian students to access higher education. This financial support can be used to cover a range of costs related to university study, including your accommodation.

For more information and eligibility criteria, please visit the Services Australia website.

Adelaide University Village offers dedicated accommodation packages for students enrolled in English language courses, exchange programs, foundation pathways, and other short-term programs. To explore our features, facilities, and services, please visit the Adelaide University Village page, or contact us if you have any further questions.

If you are an international student visa holder under 18 years old and will not be living with a parent, legal guardian, or nominated eligible relative, you must live in university-approved accommodation for a specified duration, in accordance with Under 18 Student Support Procedure.

The Accommodation Services team assist direct-entry international students under 18 with coordinating their accommodation and arrival pickup. If you are a parent or agent supporting a prospective student studying independently in Adelaide, please feel free to email us to schedule a personalised online meeting so we can ensure everything is prepared.

Some student accommodation providers offer studio apartments, which are a convenient option for couples when they first arrive in Adelaide. Alternatively, private rental accommodation is a great long-term option. However, if you choose this approach, please follow the private rental checklist on Other Accommodation page to ensure a safe arrangement.

If students plan to bring children or extended family members, finding family accommodation requires careful planning and typically takes more time. Because of this, we strongly encourage you to arrive in Adelaide alone first. This allows you to settle in, explore the local areas, and work directly with our Accommodation Service to find a suitable private rental before your family joins you.

Please feel free to contact Accommodation Services to schedule a personalised online meeting so we can ensure everything is prepared.

To help students prepare for their university life, our team delivers comprehensive accommodation briefings both online and overseas. We cover everything you need to know about your living options at Adelaide University. Check out our Accommodation Events page to join an upcoming session!
