Adelaide University is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Fox into the role of Deputy Vice Chancellor – People and Culture.
With more than 30 years’ experience leading people and transformation in large, complex organisations, Ms Fox will be instrumental in shaping Adelaide University’s culture and contributing to its pursuit of being a global employer of choice.
“I am thrilled to join Adelaide University at such an exciting time in its history,” said Ms Fox.
“Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to shape company culture and design sustainable strategies, and I see this as a unique opportunity to contribute to the University achieving its ambitions.”
Ms Fox joins Adelaide University from National Intermodal Corporation, where she has been working in the role of Chief Corporate Affairs and People Officer.
She has extensive experience in top ASX-listed companies across different global industry sectors, including FMCG, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, and energy.
A University of South Australia alum and graduate of Cambridge University’s Advanced Leadership Program, Ms Fox is a current member of leadership mentoring group Chief Executive Women and a member of the People and Safety Advisory Board Committee for the Sarah Group.

Professor Phillips also acknowledged with deep gratitude the contributions of Paul Hutchinson, Interim Deputy Vice Chancellor – People and Culture, who will continue in this role until Fox’s commencement.
Ms Fox will commence as Deputy Vice Chancellor – People and Culture in August 2026.
