Kaurna Day 2025 - Tirkanthi - Ngutu - Taikurrinthi (Learning – Knowledge - Be united together), a day to immerse yourself and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and culture. A sunrise smoking ceremony begins a day of music, dance, and storytelling.

Stand Tall: A celebration of female scholarship

Friday 7 March

Celebrate the achievements of female scholars past and present at the University of Adelaide. During this special event the new bronze statue of Professor Emerita Fay Gale (1932-2008) will be unveiled.

Eat The Invaders: Controlling Invasive species

Eat The Invaders is a six-part series examining how Australia might deal with invasive species by turning them into dinner. A collaboration between the Environment Institute, Australian Wildlife Conservancy, Biodiversity Council, ABC Impact and Partnerships, and Closer Productions this special event will feature screening of Episode 5 "Cat", followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. Health Equity Reading Group

Professor Vivienne Moore (School of Public Health) will present a paper by Heise et al (2019) entitled Gender inequality and restrictive gender norms: framing the challenges to health. Professor Jennie Popay (Lancaster University) will discuss a paper by McMahon (2022) entitled What shapes local health system actors’ thinking and action on social inequalities in health? Launching University of Adelaide’s official calendar of 150th celebrations events, Kaurna Day is an immersive and celebratory day of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. A sunrise smoking ceremony kicks off a day full of free music, dance, storytelling, and food.

Celebrate the achievements of female scholars past and present at the University of Adelaide. During this special event the new bronze statue of Professor Emerita Fay Gale (1932-2008) will be unveiled. This will be the first female statue on the University, representing the achievements of Professor Gale and all female scholars in the university's past, present, and future.
