PVCI attends Australia-Korea Industry Roundtable
Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), Professor Jacqueline Lo, recently participated in a roundtable with the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, hosted by the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea.
Chaired by the AKBC Chairman the Hon Simon Crean and co-chaired by AustChamKorea Chairman Chris Raciti, the roundtable included an update on the Australia-Korea trade and investment relationship. Minister Birmingham shared his insights on the impact of COVID-19 on Australia’s trade with North Asia and specifically on the Australia-Korea economic relationship. The Minister also outlined key lessons Australia has learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, and new and emerging opportunities for Australian businesses that may arise from changing dynamics in the Indo-Pacific region and the changing world in which we live.
In response to Professor Lo's question about encouraging Korean students to study in Australia, the minister emphasised that high-value tertiary education, and the safety and security of residing in Australia, as well as generous post-study work rights, are all distinctive appeal factors of an Australian study experience.
