Collaboration in action

  • Adelaide Health Simulation

    Adelaide Health Simulation

The University of Adelaide is collaborating with a number of Filipino universities, including the University of Philippines Manila, West Visayas State University and Mindanao State University, on a simulation-based education program funded by the Commission on Higher Education, Philippines.

In 2022, 31 representatives from the three universities attended a five-day simulation-based workshop at the University of Adelaide’s world-class simulation facility, Adelaide Health Simulation. This workshop provided an understanding of how simulation-based education could be applied to the higher education sector in the Philippines.

“Adelaide Health Simulation is a great resource that will allow us to train our next generation of health professionals in the Philippines,” said Dr Michael Tee, Vice-Chancellor, University of the Philippines Manila.

  • Train the Trainer

    Two people in a meeting

The University of Adelaide’s School of Economics and Public Policy delivered a three month ‘Train the Trainer’ program to three staff members from the National Economics University in Vietnam.

Staff members selected for the program were immersed in the Australian higher education academic and research environment, matched to a mentor from the same (or a similar) academic field, and presented with opportunities to observe and participate in teaching and research at the University of Adelaide. Each participant also enrolled in three courses at the University to gain insights into their chosen academic field.

  • Improving livelihoods

    Mekong Delta

The University of Adelaide is a partner in a project to establish a facility in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta to turn waste biomass from agricultural activities into biochar. The facility and its supply chains are expected to create green jobs, improve livelihoods, and reduce air and water pollution in the region.
