Yunle Wei - GLAS -an accidentally developed technology made a PhD Life Colourful

Projects not always move in the supposed-to-be directions, but the journey can still turn out to be fun and fruitful. In this presentation I will talk about the GLAS technology developed “by chance” during my PhD – a universal technology to incorporate noble metal nanoparticles in glass. During the course of this we have collaborated with several research groups to resolve the fundamental questions (how does it work), and engaged with many professional and industry bodies to test and validate the practical applicability of the developed GLAS technology (where to use it).
