Interim Director join the AEA Advisory Board
IPAS Interim Director, Professor Mark Hutchinson, has been appointed to the newly formed Australia's Economic Accelerator (AEA) Advisory Board. This prestigious group of experts is dedicated to transforming university research into innovative products and businesses, driving real-world impact across Australia.
Professor Hutchinson will join an esteemed group, including Jeff Connolly, Julia Spicer OAM, Dr Angeline Achariya (GAICD), Paul Kelly, Dr Virginia Marshall, Catherine Roberts AO, CSC, and Lauren Stafford. Together, they will play a pivotal role in advising on research translation, recommending large grants, and guiding collaborative opportunities between universities and industry.
The AEA, a $1.6 billion program launched by the Australian Government, is designed to accelerate the commercialisation of world-leading university research over the next decade. With substantial funding through AEA Ignite and AEA Innovate grants, the program aims to support visionary researchers and industry partners with transformative ideas that can shape Australia’s future.
