Piers Lincoln (IPAS, University of Adelaide), Professor Tanya Monro AC (Chief Defence Scientist, Department of Defence), and Dushy Tissa (Northrop Grumman Australia).

IPAS participated in the first Defence Trailblazer (DTB) Technical & Capability Conference, DTECH25, held in Canberra last week. The event brought together Defence, industry, and academia to advance technologies that will support future sovereign capabilities for the Australian Defence Force.

Institute Manager Piers Lincoln represented IPAS and its industry collaborations, including the specialty fibre project led by member Dr Erik Schartner in partnership with Northrop Grumman. Other IPAS-DTB projects featured at the conference included Quantum Sensors with TeraGlo, Quantum Clocks with QuantX Labs, and the Photonics Technologist Short Course with Photonics Industries Australia Ltd.

The conference highlighted the role of technical innovation and collaboration in developing critical capabilities for Defence, reinforcing IPAS's contributions to this national effort.
