Health and Wellbeing
Feel well, perform well
We offer numerous programs, services and facilities at the University of Adelaide to improve the health and wellbeing of our staff.
University of Adelaide wellbeing framework
The wellbeing framework links staff to a range of resources, including detailed and specialist information from external agencies. This includes information on recreation and sport, mental health, general health issues, and much more.
University health service
The University Health general practice clinic at our North Terrace campus provides comprehensive and confidential health care to all Adelaide staff and students in a friendly, comfortable environment. Its comprehensive range of services includes:
- health checks
- immunisations and vaccinations
- women's health
- drug and alcohol counselling
- contraception advice
- sports medicine
- skin care and travel medicine
- grief and bereavement counselling
- weight disorders, obesity and bulimia
- psychotherapy/counselling.
Personal counselling
The University supports staff and their immediate families with free short-term counselling through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Fitness and recreation
We provide many opportunities to stay fit and meet new people at Adelaide through a variety of fitness and recreation activities.
Our University Sports Association, for example, currently links 37 sports and recreation clubs throughout the University, and is always happy to add more when there’s sufficient demand.
We offer on-campus gymnasium facilities at The Fitness Hub, including: free weights; cardio equipment; and classes such as aerobics, yoga, cross training and dancing.
Plus, the University has extensive playing fields and indoor sporting facilities at a variety of locations.
