Mattanya comprises a group of four university-owned residences in North Adelaide. It is situated a fifteen-minute walk from our city campuses, and is close to the trendy Melbourne Street café and restaurant precinct.

Room options

When you secure a place at Mattanya, you'll be allocated a fully-furnished bedroom within a four- or five-bedroom residence. You'll share a bathroom and common living areas of the house with other Adelaide University students.

Other amenities include: 

  • fully equipped kitchen, complete with refrigerator/freezer, gas cooktop, oven and microwave
  • air-conditioned living areas with TV, dining table, chairs and lounges
  • washing machine and laundry facilities
  • unlimited wireless internet
  • access to a recreation room equipped with a TV and Foxtel connection
  • an outdoor courtyard and BBQ unit
  • free on-site car parking (available upon application and subject to availability).

2026 accommodation fees

The accommodation fees listed below are for a full year agreement and represent a cost per person.

Fees include the cost of all utilities (unlimited wireless internet, water, gas and electricity) and are paid to the University in two instalments over the course of the year.

Room option in a shared house:

  • Shared bathroom: AUD $16,120
  • Refundable security deposit: AUD $500
  • Fees listed represent the annual cost (52 weeks) of an accommodation place at Mattanya Student Residence in 2026.
