The partnership between the Adelaide Festival and Adelaide University is one of Australia’s longest‑running collaborations between a major arts festival and a university in Australia. Beginning with our foundation university, our connection with the Adelaide Festival extends back over six decades.
When the event first launched in 1960, the University’s Professor John Bishop stood as the inaugural artistic director and our university venues hosted the majority of the program.
Our partnership with the Adelaide Festival provides Adelaide University students the opportunity to participate in and engage with the event program, generating exposure to practical experience as part of their studies.
