Supporting the Pride of South Australia

Adelaide University is a premier partner of the Adelaide Football Club, supporting both the Crows’ AFL and AFLW teams.

As two prominent South Australian organisations passionate about the State, this partnership offers an opportunity to showcase the incredible talent based in South Australia and harness the power of sport in our community, from building human connection and human performance, to the impact of sport on health and wellbeing.

This partnership provides the opportunity to support the broader South Australian community, with opportunities to collaborate on initiatives that widen local community engagement with sport.

Kickstarting a new generation of contemporary learners

Lead the game with a Diploma in Sport Management

Developed and delivered in partnership with the Adelaide Crows Institute of Sports Business, Adelaide University's Diploma in Sport Management is a one-year, full-fee paying program that combines learning with real-world industry experience.

Students gain exclusive access to behind-the-scenes insights within a professional AFL club environment, learning alongside Adelaide Crows staff, industry experts and Adelaide University academics to discover how the business of sport really works.

Students explore core principles of sport and recreation and sports business operations, develop key marketing and management skills, and undertake 120 placement hours with the Club, gaining valuable industry exposure.

Each year, two graduates have the chance to secure a paid full-time position at the Adelaide Football Club, and all completing students can receive one year of credit into the Bachelor of Business majoring in Sport Management to continue their studies.

Creating meaningful student experiences

Our students give a behind the scenes football experience

In 2026, Adelaide University marketing students had the opportunity to provide footy fans with a behind the scenes look at the Adelaide Crows vs. Western Bulldogs game on 20 March.

The students shared their experience on the Adelaide University student Instagram account, capturing the guard of honour moment, time in The Bunker, and even interviewing Adelaide Crows great Tony Modra.

This hands-on industry experience connects their classroom learning with real-world practice.

Delivering unique experiences for International Students

On Saturday 11 July, the Adelaide Football Club, in partnership with Adelaide University and StudyAdelaide, hosted a Welcome Event at Adelaide Oval as part of the Cultural Heritage Series round, themed Many Cultures, One Game.

The event brought together 150 international students to celebrate multiculturalism by recognising cultural diversity, promoting inclusion, and highlighting the important role multicultural communities play in shaping Australian football. Students heard from Professor Jessica Gallagher, representatives from the Adelaide Football Club, AFLW players, and author and sportswriter Bharat Sundaresan prior to watching the Crows’ thrilling win over the Gold Coast Suns. For many international students, it was their first experience attending an AFL match.

Connecting with alumni to make a difference

Meet Parth Suri

Our alumni are trailblazers and innovators, with many making their mark at the Adelaide Football Club.

My studies allowed me to network and gave me the option of multiple electives to follow my personal passions within sport. I learnt the key aspects of the sporting industry, the skills that are required to succeed in a high-pressure environment that sport can be, and how the industry itself operates. That has significantly helped me in my role as Community Engagement Manager for the Adelaide Crows Football Club where I coordinate community engagement activities and player appearances at various engagements.

Having started my role in the AFL, I would like to work for a global sports organisation in operational and logistics management next. The future of this industry is bright and has great scope for growth. With women’s sport on the rise and sport becoming multi-million-dollar businesses, this is the field to be over the next 10 years.
