Collaboration in action

Pierre Auger Observatory

Adelaide University is a key member of the Pierre Auger Observatory Collaboration, an international consortium of more than 400 scientists from 15 countries. This partnership is centred on the Pierre Auger Observatory in western Argentina, the world’s largest facility dedicated to observing the highest-energy particles in the universe. Through this collaboration, researchers study ultra-high-energy cosmic rays, leveraging the observatory’s unique infrastructure to advance the global understanding of particle astrophysics.

JBI: Bridging research and clinical practice in South and Central America

JBI is dedicated to improving patient outcomes by bridging the gap between clinical research and real-world hospital practice and has several highly specialised collaboration entities across Central and South America region. In Brazil, the JBI Brazilian Centre for Evidence Based Health Care and the JBI Universidade Estadual de Campinas Evidence Based Healthcare Research Centre act as regional powerhouses driving the integration of medical research into localised public hospital protocols and regional health technology assessments. JBI Mexican Centre for Evidence-Based Health Care operates to close inequity gaps, focusing heavily on multidisciplinary communication, orchestrating community care initiatives, hospital strategies, and university services to ensure that health policies directly serve socially disadvantaged municipalities in Mexico.
