About me
I'm a cognitive scientist, a field that draws together linguistics, philosophy,
mathematics, computer science and psychology. I'm a balanced academic (40/40/20) conducting research and teaching
at the nexus between human behaviour and
technology. My research is translational and I teach the
principles of ethical and safe
development of technical innovation to bring new ways of living and working
with technology - and work with the Australian Institute for Machine Learning. Through teaching and collaborative interdisciplinary research, I discover, design and create novel theory and methods to help solve
societal challenges. I collaborate with the people who apply the research first – gaining perspective and context
so that the solutions are rapidly and effectively translated.
