Profile of Dr Gabriela Hirsimaki Pacas

About me

I am a Research Fellow in the Transfer Science Team at JBI, The University of Adelaide. My work focuses on the rapid synthesis of best available evidence and the translation of this evidence into clinically relevant point‑of‑care resources within the Mental Health Specialty Field of the JBI Evidence Based Practice Database.

I bring a combined perspective as a practitioner and early‑career researcher. During my PhD, I conducted a mixed‑methods randomised feasibility trial evaluating a telehealth Cognitive Behavioural Therapy intervention to reduce anxiety symptoms in people living with dementia and mild cognitive impairment. As a registered Counsellor (PACFA, ACA), I have clinical experience across community, research, and private practice settings, and have lectured in Bachelor‑ and Master‑level counselling programs.
