About me

Peter Beaglehole is a playwright, dramaturg and performer who researches the history and industrial experiences of comedians and theatre history in Australia. His monograph Dorothy Hewett's Drama, Memory and Australian Theatre was shortlisted for ASAL’s Alvie Egan Award in 2025 and he won the inSPACE Award for best theatre for his solo performance The Tumour Show in 2024. In 2022 he won the Jill Blewett Playwright’s Award for Calendar Days, and Strata was shortlisted in 2018. His work has been presented with Vitalstatistix (Adhocracy 2022), RUMPUS (2020/21), Critical Stages (2021 Come to Where I Am), and ATYP (2017 Intersection).
