Rebecca Farrell is an experienced research, innovation and governance professional with extensive experience supporting higher education and research organisations to achieve strategic objectives, strengthen stakeholder engagement and maximise the impact of research and innovation.
She has held a range of leadership, governance and strategic support roles across Adelaide University, the University of Adelaide and the broader research and innovation sector. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Adelaide, and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from the University of South Australia. Her combination of scientific training, strategic thinking and communication expertise enables her to work effectively across complex research, policy and organisational environments.
Over the past decade, Rebecca has specialised in supporting research and innovation portfolios through strategic planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, executive operations and organisational change. Her work has spanned research commercialisation, industry engagement, research impact, executive support and the development of initiatives that strengthen connections between researchers, industry, government and the community.
Rebecca has significant experience supporting senior leaders and governance processes within large and complex organisations. She has contributed to strategic decision-making through the preparation of executive briefings, governance papers and reports, and has supported committee, board and corporate governance activities. Her governance experience includes serving as Company Secretary for Innovation & Commercial Partners Pty Ltd, where she supported board administration, compliance and governance processes within a university commercialisation environment.
Rebecca is committed to helping research organisations communicate their strengths, build strategic partnerships and realise opportunities that benefit industry, communities and the economy. She is particularly interested in research strategy, research impact, innovation ecosystems, governance and fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups
