Profile of Mr Richard McInnes

About me

I am an educational leader working at the intersection of curriculum, strategy, and institutional transformation. With over fifteen years’ experience across secondary and higher education, I specialise in leading large-scale, research-informed curriculum innovation that aligns pedagogical integrity with organisational priorities.

My work sits at the professional–academic nexus: combining critical, scholarly perspectives on teaching and learning with the systems thinking and delivery focus required to operationalise change at scale. I have led initiatives spanning whole-of-institution curriculum transformation and national policy-aligned projects, bringing together diverse stakeholders to co-create sustainable, high-quality learning experiences.

I am particularly interested in values-led and critical approaches to educational development, including the role of generative AI, decolonising curriculum, and the socio-cultural dimensions of institutional change. Alongside my leadership practice, I maintain an active research profile, contributing to national and international conversations on higher education, leadership, and educational technology.
