Using design and technology to solve health and wellbeing challenges
The Design for Digital Health Lab brings together multi‑disciplinary networks of researchers, computer scientists, designers, healthcare workers, and service users. Through design‑led HCI and participatory research, we explore new ways to improve digital healthcare experiences, systems and services.
The Design for Digital Health Lab has a particular focus on emerging technologies, including augmented, virtual, spatial, and mixed reality. We use these technologies as part of reimagining healthcare experiences, services, and systems; to drive engagement with complex data sets; and, to create immersive educational and training experiences.
Our research spans the full spectrum of health and wellbeing issues, from birthing to palliative care, and from improvements in the design and operation of hospitals to rural and remote telemedicine. We work closely with industry partners across health services, hospitals, aged care, local government, health education, design and architectural practices.
