Brain rhythms in Parkinson’s disease

​​Can non-invasive brain stimulation target brain rhythms that are different in people with Parkinson’s disease?​

About the study​​

Brain rhythms are critical for normal function but are known to be altered in people with Parkinsons’s disease. Our study is testing if these changes in brain rhythms can be reversed with the use of safe and painless non-invasive brain stimulation.

​The study includes up to 6 sessions, with 5 that involve neurophysiological testing (~3.5 hrs each, located at Adelaide University City Easy Campus) and 1 that involves MRI (~30 mins, located at the Clinical Research and Imaging Centre).

Eligibility requirements

  • Have a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease (Patient group)
  • Be a healthy adult > 50 years old (Healthy group)

Benefits
