Evaluating ReMedi, a digital platform for reporting and managing medicine side effects in Australia.
About the study
Have you or your child recently started a new medicine? We invite you to take part in a research study evaluating ReMedi, a digital platform designed to help consumers report and manage medicine side effects (also known as adverse drug events). The study aims to understand how easy ReMedi is to use and how well it supports medicine safety in everyday healthcare.
Participants will complete a short baseline survey, use ReMedi to report any side effects experienced over a 30-day period, and complete a brief follow-up survey and phone interview. Some participants will also receive SMS reminders to encourage reporting. You may also choose to participate in an optional focus group.
Eligibility requirements
Participants must:
- Be 18 years or older.
- Live in Australia.
- Be either:
- an adult who has recently (no more than 1 week) started, or is about to start, a medicine that is new to them, or
- the parent or guardian of a child (<18 years) who has recently (no more than 1 week) started, or is about to start, a new medicine.
- Be able to provide informed consent.
- Have access to a smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access.
Recruitment timeline
Start of recruitment: July 2026
End of recruitment: December 2026
Benefits
Participants will receive:
- $50 electronic gift voucher for completing the study activities (baseline and follow-up survey, report side-effects using ReMedi, and brief phone interview).
- $35 per hour (up to 2 hours) for participating in an optional focus group.
- If attending an in-person focus group, a $30 transport allowance will be provided.
- Your participation will contribute to improving medicine safety and consumer reporting of medicine side effects in Australia.
