Humanities Travelling Fellowships

Dr Lucy Stone has received one of ten Humanities Travelling Fellowships awarded by the Australian Academy of the Humanities. The fellowship enables early career researchers to undertake research overseas, where they may access materials otherwise inaccessible, connect with international organisations, researchers and forge new networks. Professor Jane Burry (Head of School of Architecture and Civil Engineering) was awarded the Digital FUTURES Award / the Matthias Rippmann Memorial Prize 2024The award is in recognition of Professor’s Burry exceptional contributions in advancing digital architecture discourse and community through education and research.

South Australia 40 under 40 and Discovery Award

Professor Zachary Munn, Director of Health Evidence Synthesis, Recommendations and Impact (HESRI) in the School of Public Health was recently announced as one of South Australia's 40 under 40. He was also one of the individual award winners on the night, receiving the CMAX Discovery Award. This award recognises an innovative leader in a life sciences enterprise whose business activities have high impact potential for future health outcomes.

Wellbeing grants program winners

The student wellbeing team is proud to announce the 25 recipients of the 2024 Wellbeing Grants Program. The program offered grants up to $1,000 for staff and student groups to provide important wellbeing services, supports and opportunities to students at the University. There are various initiatives taking place across all three campuses in coming months. More information

2024 Joint Seed Funding Program recipients

Global Engagement is pleased to announce that $28,000 in funding has been awarded to two initiatives through the 2024 University of Adelaide (UoA) and Shandong University (SDU) Joint Seed Funding Program. The successful initiatives aim to encourage and develop high-quality research and education collaboration between UoA and SDU. More information

King's Birthday honours

University of Adelaide community members honoured

More than 20 members of the University of Adelaide community have been awarded King’s Birthday honours, recognising exceptional contributions to their fields of expertise. Among the recipients are six Members of the Order of Australia (AM), 12 Medals of the Order of Australia (OAM) and five Public Service Medals. Theatre Guild wins two awards

Theatre Guild wins two awards

Theatre Guild's production of INK won two Theatre Association of South Australia awards for its 2023 season. Lead actors Bart Csorba and Joshua Coldwell were both nominated, with Coldwell winning, and INK won Best Drama. The Guild's next production, King Lear, opens Friday 16 August.

2024 J. Christian Herr Award

Robinson Research Institute Director Professor David MacIntyre was awarded the 2024 J. Christian Herr Award by the American Society for Reproductive Immunology for his outstanding achievements in reproductive immunology research.

Australian Research Council (ARC) 2024 Australian Laureate Fellows

Two University of Adelaide researchers, Professor Derek Abbott (School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) and Professor Alan Collins (School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences), have been named Australian Research Council 2024 Australian Laureate Fellows for their work in transforming terahertz biosensing and unearthing the secrets of our planet.
