Theatre Guild wins two awards
Theatre Guild's production of INK won two Theatre Association of South Australia awards for its 2023 season. Lead actors Bart Csorba and Joshua Coldwell were both nominated, with Coldwell winning, and INK won Best Drama. The Guild's next production, King Lear, opens Friday 16 August.
2024 J. Christian Herr Award
Robinson Research Institute Director Professor David MacIntyre was awarded the 2024 J. Christian Herr Award by the American Society for Reproductive Immunology for his outstanding achievements in reproductive immunology research.
Australian Research Council (ARC) 2024 Australian Laureate Fellows
Two University of Adelaide researchers, Professor Derek Abbott (School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) and Professor Alan Collins (School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences), have been named Australian Research Council 2024 Australian Laureate Fellows for their work in transforming terahertz biosensing and unearthing the secrets of our planet. Epigenetics leader feted with fellowship
Award winning director of the Adelaide Centre for Epigenetics Professor Jose Polo (School of Biomedicine) has been recognised by his peers and elected into the Australian Academy of Science Fellowship. Read more.
Prestigious European Award
Emeritus Professor Mark Bartold AO was recently awarded the European Federation of Periodontology’s (EFP) International Eminence in Periodontology Award. This award is the highest honour bestowed by the EFP with only two other recipients in its history.
Hatton Award recipient: Dr Sonia Nath
Dr Sonia Nath from the Adelaide Dental School won the postdoctoral category of the prestigious Hatton Competition at the International Association for Dental Research's conference in New Orleans. The award recognises excellence in oral health research by early career researchers. Sonia's presentation was entitled Super Donor Assessment Tool for Oral Microbiome Transplantation.

Douglas Mawson Chair in Earth Sciences: Professor Alan Collins
Professor Alan Collins has been appointed as the Douglas Mawson Chair in Earth Sciences. This position was established in 1983 to acknowledge the work of Sir Douglas Mawson, the former Chair of Geology between 1921 and 1952 and highly esteemed Professor of Geology and Mineralogy at the University of Adelaide.
