Resume Roast - Professional Services
Want to know how your resume rates according to industry insiders? Then come along and have your resume 'roasted' - in the nicest and most respectful way - by a recruitment specialist!
If you've attended a Career Services resume workshop, you know that application documents should be tailored to the role you're applying for. This is why we've tailored these Resume Roast sessions to represent specific industries and to target specific disciplines.
Remember, this is not a recruitment or job application exercise. But it is a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand professional insight into what you can do in your application to better articulate your skills, experience and personal brand, to stand out from the crowd, and to be recruitment-ready!
How will the session work:
Bring along a hard copy of your most updated resume to this interactive roundtable session.
At every table, there will be one industry representative from an organisation who is either in the professional services sector, or who recruits for professional service jobs and roles.
When you come to the session, you will be allocated to a random table.
Each student will take turns having their resume reviewed by the recruitment specialist at the table, who is there to offer their expert insight and advice about your CV.
The aim is to help you improve your resume and maximise the potential of your application document by sharing with you insider knowledge on how to articulate your skills, experience and personal brand.
We promise to make it a relaxed and engaging endeavour, so don't feel embarrassed or intimidated.
Who should attend:
Anyone interested in a career in the Professional Services sector - e.g. business management, consulting, accounting and auditing, law, project management, risk management, marketing and advertising, et cetera; in particular, those looking to apply for internships or graduate opportunities.

The Power of You: How Emotional Intelligence Can Unlock Your Future
About the session:
Studies show that Emotional Intelligence (EQ) improves graduate employability and career satisfaction and is one of the most highly valued core skills in the world of work. An important pillar of Emotional Intelligence is self-awareness.

Join Nathan Jones, director of the Mood Institute, as he takes you through this insightful session to explore how EQ can enhance your self-awareness, identify your strengths, and supercharge your personal brand. What Recruiters Wish You Knew
Graduate (and internship!) job applications can feel like an emotional rollercoaster ride of anticipation, trepidation, excitement and disappointment, and a myriad of twists and turns that threaten to derail you at any point.
The process is made more daunting by the diverse selection processes each organisation might require, ranging from the online application to psychometric testing, phone or video interviews, assessment centres, case studies, group interviews, individual interviews, and more!

Through a Q&A session, students will also receive expert advice, guidance and insights into the recruitment process.
Join us at this panel session of recruitment specialists and find out what recruiters wish you knew!
